Foster Placement Needed
At Paws of the Pines Rescue, we operate as a foster-based organization, relying entirely on the commitment of devoted foster families to bring new animals into our care. This model allows us to provide safe, loving environments for each animal in need while we work to find them forever homes. Currently, we have a diverse array of animals awaiting foster commitments, from playful puppies to gentle senior pups, each eager for a chance to thrive in a nurturing setting. Your willingness to open your home to these animals plays a crucial role in helping us save and rehabilitate lives.

Gunner was adopted from our organization in August 2025 and as of mid-December 2025, due to unforeseen circumstances his adopter is needing to return him. They state that he does need a 5ft fence or higher, he counter surfs, and chews.. Typically puppy behavior, he is not a year old yet. He has been neutered, tested negative for heartworms, is microchipped. He has been raised with children, they advised he chases cats, therefore we do not recommend a home with cats.

Phoebe, formerly known as Roxy, was adopted from our organization in 2023. She is being surrendered due to her high anxiety. Phoebe has shown intense attachment to her owner, which recently caused a scratch on a grandchild resulting in the owner no longer being comfortable trying to manage. She is also showing intense possession of her owner resulting in her going “Crazy” (owners' description) at them. We are looking for a foster who can assist Roxy learn boundaries and how to better manage her anxiety.

Cooper was surrendered back to our rescue after his owner had to move into an apartment and take a different job. This required the owner to be away for extended periods of time. Cooper is believed to be a Carolina Dog and he is around 3yrs old. He is super friendly with new people and loves to run and play in a yard.
We are still testing him with cats to determine if we are comfortable with him going to a cat friendly home.

Mello is a high energy boy who needs some extra attention to building his confidence. He has been attacked 3 times previously therefore he is a little unsure of new friends to start. He has not been around cats, and at this time we are not comfortable with him going to a home with children. He CAN resource guard.

Paris
*NO Cats
*NO Kids
Paris’s owner has requested to surrender her due to having barrier reactivity. Due to this, we do not want her to go to a home with children. She will need a patient foster that is comfortable working through this with her. She is said to walk well on a leash, does crate (but reactive), and Counter surfs. She is described as shy to start, needing a calmer setting to adjust.
